Démarche le Dukan

This blog is dedicated to the Dukan diet, which as of this afternoon, has inspired me to make a lifestyle change in the way I enjoy my food. This diet prescribed by Dr. Dukan, has been the French women's secret to their slim physique, a secret withheld for centuries and is now available to us on bookshelves all over the world. Dr. Dukan has perfected the art of helping others shed the pounds effectively yet healthily for many years now, and I have chosen to take up the Dukan challenge for the next 3 months.

I have not always been a confident person and have been struggling with yo-yo dieting and weight loss since I realised I was a fat/chubby/"however else you want to describe it" kid. I have always felt that I needed to make a change to a healthier lifestyle but never really followed through with anything that I have tried.

The past few weeks of moping around thinking about how big I've become has caused me to take slightly drastic measures to lose weight... buying sachets of Bioslim mild-laxative teas and Rapid Loss Vanilla Ice-Cream flavoured powdered protein shakes. Yet I found myself being too cautious about counting calories and found that I was yo-yo dieting again. It didn't make it easier during the times I had PMS or was stressing over assessments or exams.

In the next couple of months, I will be training my body to and am hoping to maintain a healthy lifestyle for the rest of my life...well till God says "Your time's up". I'm quite sure there will be times when I may fall off the wagon, but hopefully writing this blog will help keep me in check and somehow give me some form of discipline.
What I'm hoping to achieve is having a permanent result - a happy, lively, healthier me, not a lethargic shell of a person. I know how it strongly affects me as a young woman and mostly, the people I love - my family, my boyfriend and others who are close to me. In a way, I'm doing this for them too, because I know they deserve better.

You will probably be exposed to my success, frustrations and low moments in my life. I am hoping my challenge will inspire others to choose to live a healthier lifestyle and that it will also help those who are suffering from low self-esteem or even a lack of confidence/ discipline to find a way to feel better and more confident about themselves.

I'm starting to realise that there is no better way to love yourself and your body than to feed yourself Simple, Healthy meals and making healthier choices in all aspects of life.

Phase 1 is the Attack mode, so from 2-7 days, I'll be eating just Pure Protein foods.
Sure, my body is probably going to go into shock during the next week, but I'm sure it will be all worth it in the end. Dukan has reassured me that the human body will be able to handle it just after two days of Pure Protein.

Each day I will post new recipes that I will be trying out for the next two months.
